Biography

Catherine M. Feeney grew up in Fogelsville, Pa, Rabat, Morocco and Cairo, Egypt with her parents and sister. She took her first photography class at the Cairo American College when she was fourteen and was most intrigued by processing experience in the darkroom. She continued to study photography at CAC until her graduation in 2001 She also studied at the Rhode Island School of Design summer program in 2000.

She attended Bard College, where she majored in Photography, studying under Larry Fink, An-My Le, Barbara Ess, John Pilson, Luc Sante and Stephen Shore. Her senior thesis, entitled “Winded” was an exploratory study of self-portraiture, sexuality and self-awareness.

Catherine worked as Larry Fink's Studio/Darkroom manager and printer in Martins Creek, PA for three years. In April of 2008 she moved to the San Francisco bay area.
